Acadia Byway Concept and Update Sep 12, 2006

Overview: HCPC will work with the Town of Trenton, the Acadia Byway Corridor Committee, MaineDOT, Acadia National Park and Friends of Acadia to prepare a corridor management plan for Route 3 from the Ellsworth Town Line to Thompson Island.

Progress:

HCPC has assembled several sources of funds to work on this plan as illustrated in the Sources table.
Walked the length of the corridor, taking 300+ photographs, GPS readings, notes, etc.
Created www.acadiabyway.org as a new website to display plans, photos, news, etc.
Met with COA Staff and retrieved invaluable GIS work prepared by students last year.
Coordinating Byway Corridor Plan with Acadia Gateway Center and other MaineDOT initiatives.
Updates are being provided to the Acadia Byway Corridor Committee. Trenton representatives include: Bill Haefele, Peter Lazas and Kim Murphy. Other members include Anne Krieg (Chair), Anne Kozak, John Kelly and Stephanie Clement.
