Activities and Events
Explore Mount Desert Island and its birds through numerous events and venues. With our expert guides you can greet our Warblers on early morning birding walks, visit with Atlantic Puffins and Pelagic birds at sea, and observe Peregrine Falcons at an active nesting site in Acadia National Park. Our combination of expert lectures and slide shows, walks, adventures and Art will connect you to our unique Down East Maine Ecology, many and unique bird species, diverse Gulf of Maine habitats and local birding hotspots. Paul Kerlinger will be the keynote speaker presenting "Migratory Birds, Wind Turbines and Communication Towers" at the College of the Atlantic. The 2010 Acadia Birding Festival is a nonprofit event celebrating thriving ecosystems and the important ecological connections between Land and Sea in the Gulf of Maine bioregion.
